I posted a game project on the developpers subforum.
I'll need you to model and animate the harvesters!
There are models of them:
1. Queen : Refer to Bee Queens ( a mix of Bee queen and a long legged crab, only, she stays on a vertical position)
2. Young queens (colonizers, they have antigravity tiny wings that allows them to fly into space, they have very few exposed areas (refer to giant yellow hornet(japanese + geth warship (from Mass effect)) They have a plasma burst instead of a sting.
3. Workers : they resemble the most to crabs, mixed with the Araknii from Starship troopers, only the have digging fangs in front.
4. Soldiers: They are grooup leaders and order the workers to attack or work. As they mature, they gain wings, and protect young queens. They spit acid from a scorpion like tail.
5. Sentinels: They protect the queens, and are giant like the giant Araknii in Starship Troopers. They can take down inbound space ships, and the smaller ones are like AA turrets.
Use your imagination, to make these models, you can also propose quick sketches, I'll try myself.
Thank you for the offer!

I check back here from time to time to see what is happening - I don't like to think of the project as dead - just resting
I can help you with some modeling/texturing/animating - let me know what you are looking for specifically -and good luck on your side project! I would like to make an iphone game myself 5,000 triangles/frame - and there is already a great marketing platform. |

Very nice! I like your work a lot!
I PM you long time ago to help me with my game, and I got no answer, would you mind doing some models for me? I'll pm you again in blenderartist.org. Nice gallery you have indeed! Edit: Sorry, actually I did not PM you... |

Greeting fellas!
It seems this site has become a ghost forum! Ever since I joined this forum, I expressed my intentions to use the engine to create my own game. I see now that I lack the sufficient knowledge (programming) to do so successfully. So I now ask for help. Jochen is being busy developing another application, which apparently could boost the Geist 3D Editor, till then, I might not see any post from him. So if any one is acquainted with the engine, please give me a hand here, so I might be ready once J is ready! Chronicles of Saba is a trilogy of games, I'm using to eventually learn to make my own engine. The first one is Genesis, I'm developing on Blender 3D. I expect to learn about work flow, graphics and game play. Then Exodus, I'll develop in Geist 3D, I'll then learn programming, scripting and advanced shaders. Finally Liberation, I hope to have a basic engine similar or derived from Geist 3D with specific features (I'll use Geist 3D if I'm not able to write an engine by then). In 'Exodus', the human race has come to the Andromeda Galaxy and have established good relationships with the Sophorians (the only intelligent life native to the galaxy), and sworn to help their newly found 'neighbors' defeat the 'Harvesters', an invading bio-engineered insect like alien race. My idea is to make the game a online multiplayer game. Where the player will choose between the 2 races and the factions within them. Or even to freelance. There will be one city for every faction, the Harvesters will colonize half the planets in the galaxy, and when the game starts it will be a race against time to help the Sophorians not to be engulfed by the invaders. The ground Zero will be Saba, where humans, Sophorians and Harvesters meet for the firs time. So far I can import models into the editor. So the first thing I need to know is how to add animation. It will take some time till I start building the game elements, since I' m working on the first one... I appreciate your help! Thanks for reading. |

Quote I am basically building a development studio for OpenCL, which is a new parallel programming language for the GPUs. I realized that Geist3D with its Lua bindings and rendering capabilities could become a nice IDE for OpenCL, so I decided to go into this direction for a while. I will post a new site with demos and downloads after its done. Once the OpenCL studio is out I will bring that new version of Geist3D up to date with the Pangea engine, by porting all the stuff from the old engine that is missing, such as the planet engine. Long story short, it will be a while before I seriously get back to Pangea Can't believe I didn't comment on that. This are indeed good news! You are aiming for the future! Can't wait to see the results! So I can do whatever I want with the current editor, since it wont be updated any more? Too bad you didn't finish fixing all its features and the parenting. I mean, with triggers, and parenting, I can start building my game on it, even if its just to understand it better (Geist3D). What says you? |

Ah Tamarin, long time indeed!
I'll be on holidays from monday, although I'll be mostly busy with my house building, I'll sure spend some time working on this project. If you'd like we can work on my current project, I suck at texturing, could use some help... Great to see thing are going better for you! |

Hey everyone!
It has been a while. I am currently just busy with work and a new girlfriend. I'm thinking about doing some more computer art - it is something I love to do. I lost interest in everything for a while - going through some life changing stuff this last year. I hope we can all work on a project again some time. Andrew |

Hi, of course I am still lurking as well. I am currently taking parts of Geist3D, mainly the editor, into a different direction. Other than doing contract work that pays the bills, I am basically building a development studio for OpenCL, which is a new parallel programming language for the GPUs.
Long story short, it will be a while before I seriously get back to Pangea, but I am not too worried about it. Mainstream GPUs aren't ready yet for a full-fledged procedural engine. I can't wait to see what Infinity looks like when it comes out... Other than that life is good. Kids are keeping me busy as well. It's amazing to revisit the little things that we all had to learn at one point in our lifes. |

Great to read from you StormGnu! Indeed, long time it's been since we worked together! Great timing too. Starting this month, I plan to start "playing" Pangea : A new beginning. This will be more like typing my progress as I add elements to the game. You'll see when it comes.
So far, I've been working on other projects and also extremely busy at work (since it was the beginning of the year). Next month I'll be on vacation, so I'll work on all projects! The baby is also sucking a few hours out of my system, but they are worth it! I'll also start learning programming so I can help more efficiently in the engine part. Well see you all soon! |
